Reinsurance is organized as a Business Unit within ageas SA/NV, the group top holding, on whose balance sheet it now underwrites third-party reinsurance under the trade name Ageas Re. Today, Ageas Re serves both Group and non-Group clients predominantly in EMEA and Asia, specializing in property and casualty treaty reinsurance.

Reinsurance Operations & Projects Department plays a pivotal role in supporting Ageas Re's growth. To strengthen our team; we are looking for a Claims Operations Officer to join our ambitious and dynamic team that is growing rapidly.

Your function

Ageas Re Operations & Projects team is dedicated to overseeing all day-to-day operational aspects of reinsurance, ensuring accurate technical and financial record keeping for both internal and external reinsurance agreements, with a focus on delivering exceptional claims service and maintaining strong client relationships.

Your main responsibilities will be : 

  • Manage and oversee the handling of reinsurance treaty claims, ensuring timely and accurate processing, evaluation, and settlement, both inwards (assumed reinsurance) and outwards (retrocession).

  • Provide expert advice on claims matters, including interpretation of reinsurance treaty terms and conditions.

  • Work closely with underwriters, actuaries, brokers and clients to develop claims strategies that align with business objectives.

  • Conduct thorough analysis of large and complex claims to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Foster strong relationships with clients and brokers, ensuring a high level of service and satisfaction.

  • Contribute to the development of best practices and procedures and implementation of claims management including the production of regular and comprehensive claims reports.

Your profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Insurance, Law, or equivalent;

  • At least 5 years of experience in property and/or casualty treaty claims management within a reinsurance or insurance environment;

  • Strong knowledge of reinsurance concepts and market practices;

  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills;

  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools;

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building positive relationships at all levels.
